I did miscalculate my journey; the plan was to take the railway between Erfurt and Bebra and spot freight trains. Unfortunately, there were railworks these days, so I had to change plans some days before the trip.
I will still visit the railway between Leipzig and Erfurt, but with fewer trains than normally operate here. Here is Leuna Werke Nord
The Leuna works (German: Leunawerke) in Leuna, Saxony-Anhalt, is one of the biggest chemical industrial complexes in Germany. The site, now owned jointly by companies such as TotalEnergies, BASF, Linde plc, and DOMO Group, covers 13 km2 and produces a very wide range of chemicals and plastics. (Wikipedia)
The chemical industry needs chemicals, often transported by rail

Großkorbetha
Usually, many freight trains pass here, so let's see
Euroduals are popular here in Saxony-Anhalt because there are heavy trains, and many railways are non-electrified

Impressive, this locomotive supports D, A, I, N, S, DK, so it might be traveling all the way from Italy to Sweden
And it has some Scandinavian semi-trailers
At Weißenfels, I can spot this French DMU

The DR Class V 180 of Deutsche Reichsbahn (from 1970 Class 118, later DBAG Class 228) was a class of the largest diesel locomotives built in the German Democratic Republic. The manufacturer was Lokomotivbau Karl Marx Babelsberg (LKM). (Wikipedia)
It's short days in November, so it's time to get to the next hotel, which will be in Göttingen. To get there from Erfurt, I must take 2 ICE trains, and there is a change in Wurzburg. It's a bit of a detour, but it's due to the railworks
