Barcelona-Madrid with Ouigo and Avlo

Today I'm traveling to Madrid with the new services from Ouigo and Avlo
First, some greetings from Catalan cats

Traveling to Barcelona

Check in

Ouigo, which is a subsidiary of SNCF, has been operating in France since 2013, and now it has started the service in Spain
TGV Euroduplex trains are used on the line to Madrid
Ouigo is promoted as a low-cost company, which means that the only way to purchase tickets is online, there are no refunds and there are extra fees for almost everything such as luggage and seat selection

There is only 2nd class on the train, but it is possible to pay extra for so-called XL seats

There is a bar on board, with snacks and drinks

I will be traveling back with Avlo train later
Ouigo in Madrid

Puerta del Sol
Plaza Major
El Retiro Park

Time to go back
Just like low-cost airlines there are restrictions on the luggage size
Avlo started its services at the same time as Ouigo, here is the Renfe S112 Talgo trains

Both Avlo and Ouigo are offering tickets at much lower prices than standard AVE trains on this route

While Ouigo has a coach which is similar to 1st class, there is only 2+2 seating in Avlo. There is also no bar onboard, only vending machines. So I would preffer Ouigo next time I travel
