Maizieres Les Metz, Hagondange, Uckange, Thionville

On the last day of this 3-day trip, I will visit France and then fly back from Luxembourg to Stockholm.
It's still October, but already dark in the morning
I'm leaving Thionville, but will come back here later today

Coming back to Maizieres Les Metz where I was this summer

A bunch of Alstom Prima locomotives

TER 2N NG trains are used here on the line Luxembourg-Metz. There are trains both with SNCF and CFL liveries
SNCF BB 60000

Today, I'll also visit Hagondange station. I can see a CFL Cargo train preparing for a trip

437058, Akiem with F and D country codes

The autumn has arrived in France

37032, RRI - Rhenus Rail St. Ingbert GmbH
On the way to Germany

37021, CFL cargo France S.A.

There has been a change of locomotives here in Hagondange, this one supports Germany

Klog.pt, the cargo from Portugal

Parc du haut-fourneau U4 that I've visited this summer

On this line, there are diesel cars operating a service to Germany, Trier. Even though the line is electrified, the two large European countries have not been able to manage modern electrified train services

427030 at Uckange

CFL Cargo train with LKW Walter wagons
The line between Luxembourg and Trier is closed this weekend, so my guess is that the freight trains are taking a detour through Thionville and Perl/Apach. To do this, the train has to change direction, and probably it is done at Hagondange

427107E and 427103E

427030

437058

37033, RRI - Rhenus Rail St. Ingbert GmbH
Passing through Thionville station

ETCS
LKW Walter train is back

DE18 303 and 308, with L, F, D country codes

Looks like it is on the way to Bettembourg

Alstom HLE 13

L, F, B

This train is on the way to a sidetrack

From Thionville I'm taking a TGV train to Luxembourg, the price is almost same as on TER train

Luxembourg

The new tram in Luxembourg

The tram line to the airport will in 2025, until then there is a bus - and everything is for free

Luxair lounge
Not much people here
Luxair is a small airline with 21 planes and 95 destinations, it is part of Miles&More but not part of Star Alliance

Taking Arlanda Express today
