During the last days in Hungary during this trip, I am visiting Biatorbágy station on the Budapest-Györ line.
Last year, the railway was reconstructed, so this and many other stations were closed since all local trains were suspended. This year, all four tracks were open, and when I arrived, the two side tracks were occupied by waiting freight trains.
Sometimes, even the local passenger trains have to make space for the faster passenger trains.

This locomotive has 60 units built. In France, it is used for cross-border freight traffic to Italy. Previously, it was also used for passenger service at Thello, and there were plans to use it for "Nightstar" services to UK.
The locomotive's top speed is 200km/h, so it was intended for passenger services. So, maybe it's not strange that MAV plans to use these locomotives for the Intercity and night train services, replacing the older V43 locomotives.
