Contumil, Vale de Figueira, Gelida, Vilaverd, Vinaixa, Lleida

Today I'm leaving Portugal and returning back to Spain
Before heading to the airport, I'm visiting the station Contumil, just north of Porto Campanhã
The entrance is well hidden, but I could find it at the end

At the airport
Before leaving Portugal: a glass of port wine and pastel de nata
"Who will be the 2024 democratic nominee..."

On the way to Barcelona
Landing in Barcelona
Hopefully, I will see this train soon from the ground
I'm back in Spain, and starting the next day, I will be traveling in Spain for one week, checking out trains
The next day, I'm reading to go
It is Sunday, and I'm in Spain - so there are not many chances of seeing freight trains; the only one I see today rolling is this one
Just as the shipping company MSC owns Medway, another shipping company, CMA CGM, has purchased the railway company Continental Rail in 2021
Continental Rail has existed since 2000
335 023, is a Euro 4000 manufactured in 2008
On this trip in Spain, I will be going from Barcelona to Madrid through Lleida and Zaragoza, then returning back through Albacete and Valencia
I'm renting a car here in Spain as well; this is due to the heat and also the uncertainty about train frequency along the conventional Iberian gauge lines
The line through Gelida station has a dual-gauge railway

Montblanc station along the Tarragona-Lleida line
There is a freight train parked here; I was uncertain if it is on the way anytime soon
So, I'm heading to nearby station - Vilaverd

There are frequent services of Regional and Media Distancia trains here

But there are no freight trains today

Waiting for the train to Barcelona

The train at Montblanc station is just parked here with pantographs down
On my way to Lleida, I'm stopping at Vinaixa

From Vinaixa I can spot the high speed train line

My hotel for tonight

It's Euro 2024, and Spain is going to win the whole thing.
