Falkenberg

I'm on my way to Skåne this weekend. There is a railworks near Hässleholm, so traffic is disrupted on the Southern Mainline. All trains are rerouted through Göteborg, so I have to take a longer way with a overnight stop in Falkenberg
First, I'm traveling to Herrljunga where I'll change to a local train to Varberg. Spotters are everywhere

Stora Enso freight train

From Herrljunga it is still possible to get on an older X11 or X14 train

Herrljunga is famous for its cider
A library stop with a cat

The railway between Herrljunga and Varberg has been modernized so now it's also possible to use heavier freight trains

TXL/LKW Walter train in Varberg

Soon, everything will change here in Varberg with the opening of the railway tunnel
I've arrived at Falkenberg
West Coast Railway (Västkustbanan) does not have many stations along the way, as I'm not sure which way freight trains are taking exactly. But here in Falkenberg, I should be able to see all of them
I don't have to wait much time until the first train is visible

The freight does not have to use the platform tracks so it is better view

X2 trains are normally not used here, but this weekend the trains from Stockholm to Malmö are taking this way

Also, Snälltåget
Used here in sandwich composition for a faster turnaround in Göteborg C

The weekend metro wagon delivery

Some X2 trains are in double composition
X55 for the regular Göteborg-Malmö service

Some freight trains do switch to the platform track which is used for overtaking by faster trains

After sun comes the rain

Interesting to see an southbound Öresundståg using the opposite platform as the regular one is occupied by the freight train

Impressive cloud over the west coast

Time for dinner, there is a local burger restaurant near the station

I'm back at the station

Red light ahead

Snälltåget is overtaking the freight train

The common pheasant is living dangerously

Ooops
The two freights meet here, with an exchange of the staff

Now it's green

Time to visit the town

The old railway bridge is demolished
The sea is near

A bit contradicting messages on the public WC

The old railway ends in central Falkenberg

The old station
Perfect film location for representing the 80's or the 90's
